At 14, Quvenzhané Wallis is really just getting started with her blossoming acting career, but now she can add published author to that resume!
The teen recently released not one but TWO children’s books under book publishing company Simon & Schuster. The first, A Night Out With Mama, is a picture book inspired by Quvenzhané’s big night with her mom at the 2013 Oscars (she was the youngest ever to be nominated for Best Actress at only 9-years-old!). The second, Shai & Emmie Star in Break an Egg, is all about two best friends and their adventures at an performing arts school. Both sound like some great reads for kids!

For real, this is only the beginning for the young actress turned author. She’s actually signed on for at least a four-book deal with Simon & Schuster, so she has a few more books coming. Turns out, that Break an Egg is the first in a series of chapter books, with the second set to be released sometime in January!
Quvenzhané and her publishing company expressed excitement over the books on Twitter:
“I really hope that people my age enjoy reading these books,” Quvenzhané shared in an interview. “I’m excited about experiencing new things, and sometimes it gets to the point where I might get a little obsessed with it. But I really enjoy writing, and I can’t wait to do more.”
