Lil Wayne's Manager Says The Show Must Go On: 'The Only Thing He's Addicted To Is Work'

Lil Wayne and Cortez Bryant

Lil Wayne has had a number of health scares throughout his career, most of which have been attributed to epilepsy. The most recent scare was when Wayne was found unconscious after suffering a seizure in his hotel room in Chicago.

His doctors said that he should take it easy for a few days and rumors swirled that he might retire, but according to Wayne's manager and best friend Cortez Bryant, neither of those things are going to happen.

TMZ caught up with Tez at an airport and asked about Wayne's status and whether or not he should take a break. "I tell him that all the time, but I don't think that's going to work," he said. "He's a workaholic, that's what got him to where he is now." On Wayne's epilepsy, Tez said that it's something they're going to have to deal with "for the rest of his life" but that it's not going to stop them.

He also addressed the rumors that Lil Wayne is addicted to cough syrup and that's why he has made so many trips to the hospital.

Lil Wayne has been dedicated to performing since he was 9-years-old. To expect him to give that up after all this time and do nothing (he is only 34) would be crazy, but hopefully Tez and the rest of his family and friends can convince him to put the mic (and the cup) down every now and then.
