🗣️ Hear ye, hear ye!
We'd like to introduce you to our newest hero: This 9-year-old young lady who deserves an award for being the most innovative and ambitious Girl Scout in history.
USA Today reports that the unidentified Junior Girl Scout set up shop right outside a marijuana dispensary in San Diego Saturday, where she wound up selling 300 boxes of cookies in about six hours.
Urbn Leaf, the dispensary outside which she sold her wares, even gave the mini cookie mogul a shoutout on its Instagram page: "Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today until 4pm! 🍃🍪," the shop wrote. "Have a friend that wants to #tagalong? Bring them with - shopping is more fun with friends anyways. 👭👬👫"
Of course, Twitter had a lot to say about the girl's genius marketing tactic:
There's just ooone minor issue with the girl's scheme, though: According to The San Diego-Union Tribune, Girl Scout policy prohibits members from setting up shop outside a business that isn't on the organization's "approved list" (i.e. a dispensary). Our hero might have broken that rule, but because she was strolling outside the dispensary's doors with a wagon in tow, she's in a gray area.
Said Maryl Doyle, director of communications for Girl Scouts San Diego: “As Girl Scouts, we assume good intent. Should we became aware that a girl has repeated an infraction, there could be consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. We handle situations like this as we would a personnel issue … as a private matter between the family and the council (Girl Scouts San Diego)."
Either way, this girl's well on her way to becoming the next Steve Jobs. Kudos to you, Mystery Girl Scout!
