Artist Receiving Death Threats After Creating This Powerful Nazi-Themed Trump Billboard

No matter what your political beliefs are, you've got to admit that this is a powerful message.

Artist Karen Fiorito is responsible for this controversial Phoenix billboard that depicts President Trump in front of a nuclear mushroom cloud and next two swastika-ish dollar signs. While many applaud her work, she claims she’s also receiving death threats.

“I got the opportunity to have a platform to say something, and I took that opportunity, and I take full responsibility for it,” said Fiorito.

The billboard was reportedly provided by Beatrice Moore, who’s offered to keep the artwork up for the remainder of Trump’s presidency.

“I think a lot of people are feeling this way and I’m just trying to express what I think is on a lot of people’s minds these days,” Fiorito continued. “Something that really concerned us was this idea of a dictatorship where things were going in a certain direction.”

The work isn’t all fire and brimstone, however. On the backside of the same billboard is another piece by Fiorito; this one shows the word ‘UNITY’ spelled out in sign language.

Reviews of the billboard are unsurprisingly mixed. Many have praised the work as bold and necessary. Others support the message, but think that the imagery is too much – one man who lives near the display is particularly peeved at having to look at the piece day-in and day-out, so he made the adorable suggestion of, “Maybe put some thumbs down up there around Trump or something, but I don’t like waking up to the Nazi signs.”

And predictably, there’s the wildly furious haters. There’s been death threats and lots of all-caps shouting on social media, all aimed directly at Fiorito. But it doesn’t look like she’s backing down any time soon:

“That’s my expression and I think I have the right to say that.”

What do you think of the billboard? Is it too much, or not enough
