Tia Mowry-Hardrict told People Magazine at the 2016 BET Awards that she and her husband Cory Hardrict wanted to give their five-year old son Cree a little brother or sister. The actress suffers from endometriosis and has decided to fight it by switching to an anti-inflammatory diet using recipes from her cookbook A Whole New You. Just over a year later, Tia has dropped 20 pounds and is flaunting her toned bod on Instagram!
Endometriosis is an "often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus--the endometrium--grows outside the uterus." Over time, this tissue has no way to exit your body and can become irritated causing scar tissue and adhesions to form.
Fertility problems like Tia's are common. "I do suffer from endometriosis. So there's a bit of a challenge there, but I will say this: I am working on my diet," the actress declared.
Tia's plan is pretty straightforward. She follows a diet that cleanses her major systems and gets rid of inflammation. "Endometriosis basically grows from inflammation," she explained. Tia eats whole foods including fruits, veggies, whole grains, and seeds while cutting out processed, refined, and packaged foods.
Her efforts have paid off! Tia has been exercising to fuel her efforts to get healthy. She is sporting a flat, toned tummy and well-defined legs and arms. She captioned her Instagram photo this way: "I've lost 20 pounds! Many asked how? Diet and cooking out of my cookbook #wholenewyou."
Tia looks great, has a successful cooking show, and has a digital weekly web series coming this fall called "Tia Mowry's Quick Fix." Who knows? She might even get that bun in the oven to boot!
