When cowards were randomly leaving nooses in trees in Washington, D.C. and other places around the country it was a little alarming, but one group of White teens in Claremont, New Hampshire went beyond empty threats and actually tried to lynch an 8-year-old biracial boy!

According to reports, the group of unidentified teens called the boy a series of racial slurs, then pushed him off of a backyard picnic table with a rope from a tire swing around his neck late last month. After two weeks of an official police investigation, activists in the community and the boy's family are demanding more information from the cops so that something can be done and so that everyone knows exactly what happened.

"Folks don’t just deserve to be informed about what’s going on," said Mark Hughes, the leader of a Vermont-based racial justice group called Justice for All. "It is imperative that we disseminate this information because to not do this feeds into the problem."

In his refusal to provide more information about the case, Claremont Police Chief Mark Chase is quoted as saying that the young lynch mob needs to be "protected," and that, "mistakes they make as a young child should not have to follow them for the rest of their life."

The boy's uncle wrote in a Facebook comment that they are not sure that the lynching was because of the boy's race, but saying racial epithets while literally hanging someone seems pretty racist to us.
